Loft Insulation in Leicestershire
Loft Insulation Is the ideal first step to making your house more energy efficient. Loft insulation acts as a blanket trapping rising heat in your house that would otherwise dissipate through your roof. Without loft insulation installation you could be losing as much as 26% of your heat through your roof, so this type of insulation is a simple and effective way to reduce your heating bills.
Why Loft Insulation?
There are many reasons why loft insulation is a great investment, here are just a few:
- Save an average of £150 per year with reduced energy bills
- Reduced carbon emissions
- Government funding available
- Improve your home’s EPC rating
- Add value to your house
- Noise reduction
If we install the recommended 270mm depth you could save around £150 a year on your heating bills and 620kg of CO2. Your loft may have insulation already, but it may not be to the latest government guide-lines. These figures are provided by The Energy Saving Trust and are based on a 3-bedroom semi-detached property heated by gas. Greater savings can be made with loft insulation in larger properties.
Financing Loft Insulation
Loft insulation is a great energy efficiency option which can save you money and add value to your property. However, it doesn’t have to be a costly one. The Government is currently giving out low cost loans and grants to encourage homeowners, tenants and landlords to have their attic’s insulated, and reduce carbon emissions.
How it Works
One of SS Allied’s experienced Energy Assessors will visit your home and assess your attic space. Insulation is applied to your loft space, which is normally made of a light mineral wool. Air pockets trap the heat and act as a barrier to the hot air that is rising from your home. This work shouldn’t take more than a day to complete and we will strive to cause minimum disruption to your home.
